Truly the most intense, emotional,
stressful work I do....but it's also the
most rewarding.
When etching a monument every ounce
of your focus HAS to be on what you're
doing. There's no thinking about what's
going on at home, no day dreaming, no
thinking about what you have to pick up
at the store on the way home...you
have to have complete tunnel vision.
When I find myself drifting off, or even
getting to cocky because I'm doing so
well with an etching, I step back and
take a breather and regroup. After all,
most etchings are on black granite.
There is absoultly no room for mistakes.
Some monument companies use
computers and lazers..not this chick. It's
all done by hand, just me and a dremel
....sorta like the flinstones. It's an old
art, not done to often anymore, but the
outcome is a very personal one of a
kind look and well worth looking into!
Anything can be etched and most
etchings tell a story. It may be a favorite
pet, a favorite car, house,
farm...anything the customer wants I
can accommidate. Photos are welcome.
Most all preliminary business for a
monument etching can be handled over
the computer. I am willing to travel with
the costs being reflected in your total
price.
